If by “take” you mean from where should a photo be taken, then as the article says, “It’s best to use a lens with a focal length of at least 85 mm. Photos should be taken from a distance of at least 10 feet away from the subject’s face.” Your face must of course be exactly perpendicular to the camera, with no yaw, roll or pinch angles as described in the article.

If by “take” you mean where should you mean you want to know where to take an existing photo for analysis, I don’t have any solid recommendations. There are a number of “beauty apps” that supposedly generate a score, but few reveal their algorithms and it’s difficult to know if they’re accurate. If you want to measure your face for golden ratios as per the markers in the article, you can download PhiMatrix softare at http://www.phimatrix.com to check for golden ratios. The software has a two week free trial.

I had no idea there were so many ideas and measurements done with facials. My facial skin is getting a little wrinkly around the eyes and so I was looking at getting a facial done. I’ll have to go to a salon and see what kind of cool techniques they use to make their clients look good. Thanks for this awesome info!
