In reply to <a href="https://www.goldennumber.net/golden-ratio-common-core-curriculum-math-standards/#comment-2225">Roger M.</a>.

The information that you say is "misleading and deceptive" is simply what the Common Core State Standards site says on its "About" page at http://www.corestandards.org/about-the-standards/development-process/. The purpose of presenting the information on this page is simply to be a resource for anyone who is using the Common Core program in getting reliable information on the golden ratio. I understand that there are people both for and against Common Core, but that debate is outside the context of this site or my expertise. Your post will help to increase awareness that this issue exists.

The information on this site is very interesting. I am a fan of getting to the truth of things in an unbiased way. It would be great if the same care could be taken with presenting accurate Common Core facts.

for example a paragraph on this site states the following;

'"In 2009, an effort was launched by leaders in various states to develop the Common Core State Standards...."

The narrative put forth about the beginnings, purpose and players in the Common Core scheme is misleading and deceptive. The above sentence is but one example.

Virtually every state currently has citizens groups (mostly parents) actively opposing Common Core.
Ohioans against Common Core is just one reference and a place to begin seeking background information on the subject.

I highly recommend researching and presenting the truth on the topic if the rest of the information presented is to be trusted.
