I like the new layout, for I am a web designer myself, however, maybe if you implemented some Phi graphics on it the background, such as blended graphics, it could come to life. I also noticed there is like 1,000 pixels to the right on smaller monitors (screen resize). May want to fix that so there is no confusion when scrolling.
